In the month leading up to Christmas, our branches across the Hillingdon and Uxbridge region, asked members of the public to help with donations of toys, crafts, paints, etc to give to Radio Lollipop at Gt Ormond St Hospital. The radio is run by volunteers, who also go onto the wards to see the children that are well enough, to encourage them to feel a little better through play.
With the help of Chauffeur Bearer Jim Middleton, Suzette from Walding & Son took her toys to the hospital to meet up with the team, along with donations collected by A.V.Smiths & Sons, Hillingdon Funeral Service, Ruislip Funeral Service and Lodge Brothers of Northolt, Yiewsley, Brentford and Ealing.
Suzette says, “ Thankyou to everyone for your generosity. Every single item will be put to good use by Radio Lollipop. My own daughter is one the volunteers, and was amazed at the number of items donated. There were so many, only a few are in the picture, but every toy will help bring a smile back to a poorly child.”
