Suzette has worked for Lodge Brothers Waldings Branch in Uxbridge since February 2002, and has arranged many thousands of funerals. Even so, she says every day is different, because every family and their funeral needs are different and varied.

Uxbridge is a busy bustling town centre, and Walding & Son is well known in the area. You can walk from Waldings to the Civic Centre within 10 minutes to register a death, with ample parking in 2 multi-storey car parks. So literally, everything is here.

Home to Brunel University (named after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdon Brunel), Uxbridge is a bustling town centre with pedestrianised walkways, parklands, rivers, two large shopping centres, supermarkets, clothing stores and a new sports leisure complex incorporating the Grade II Listed Art Deco Uxbridge Lido opened in 1935.
The town played a key role during the Battle of Britain in 1940 when RAF operations were controlled from its airbase. The Uxbridge Underground Bunker can still be visited by appointment.
For about 200 years most of London's flour was produced in the area. In the 19th century the Kingsmill opened, and they're now one of the best known bread makers in the country.

WHY CHOOSE Walding & Son

Founded by James Walding in 1906, Walding & Son, the local family owned Funeral Directors in Uxbridge, has been helping and advising local families for over 100 years.

We know that organising a funeral can seem like a daunting task, especially when we find ourselves having to make difficult decisions at a time of loss and bereavement, when we feel least able to manage.

You can trust Walding & Son to guide you through every step of the journey. We take great pride in being able to offer a 24 hour service, 365 days a year, providing advice on what needs to be done and by whom.

As part of the Lodge Brothers family who has over 230 years of experience, we have encountered nearly every situation. Our full downloadable ‘Guide to Arranging A Funeral’ has been prepared to give you an outline of the actions required by executors and others when planning a funeral, as well as giving you information on the wide range of services we offer.

Everyone is an individual, and there are many options available to help you create a meaningful, memorable and personal funeral day that honours the deceased.

If you prefer, our funeral arranger can visit you at home to discuss the arrangements.

Waldings & Son Deliver Bespoke Floral Arrangement

February 11th, 2021
Last week, the team at Waldings & Son in Uxbridge helped create a special floral tribute for a client's husband, who had sadly passed away. The deceased was known to his family and friends as a very patriotic gentleman; volunteering for National Service when he was younger and serving with the Royal Mechanical Engineers in Yemen. With that in mind, the team worked with the client and our in-house florists to create a special arrangement, with poppies and ears of wheat. They were also able to drape the coffin in a Union flag as an extra tribute. Sadly due to the current restrictions, not all the family...

A Heartfelt Thank you!

August 13th, 2020
Suzette and the team at Walding & Son received a heartfelt thank you from a client this week. "Thank you to James and all the Staff at Walding & Son who eased our burden yesterday. A sad but beautiful day which Martin conducted wonderfully. His kind words helped us remember the joy Mum brought to everyone who knew her rather than dwelling on the sadness of the occasion."
